About Me

DL deBolt
Midwestern, United States
My ancestors immigrated to the Midwest in the late 1800s from Northern Europe. I was born on the South Side of Chicago and raised in a strict Dutch Calvinistic family. These religious roots in my family can be traced back to the Netherlands as far back as I can find, beginning with The Protestant Reformation in the 16th century. My religious upbringing (indoctrination) began in church as far back as I can remember. My experience with religion continued with Christian Education for Grade school, High School and College. I attended the Christian Reformed Church's Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, known to many as the "Holy City" due to all the Protestant churches, Christian colleges and Seminaries, and the Headquarters of both the Reformed and Christian Reformed churches. I considered myself to be a Christian since my teens and believed everything written in the Bible. I attended church my entire life and believed what I was taught without question. This has finally started to change!
